Join educators, community partners, and WNC Resilience Project Learning Lab teams for a hands-on day of learning, connection, and collaborative problem solving.
We’ll begin with an Appalachian food preservation experience that brings together local history, culture, content, and community as a model for meaningful, place-based learning. From there, Learning Lab teams will share Change Ideas they are currently testing in schools across Western North Carolina. Throughout the day, participants will offer feedback, make connections, explore emerging Bright Spots, and spend focused time moving their own work forward.
The convening is designed to strengthen our regional learning network by helping educators and partners learn from one another, build relationships, and share practical ideas that can grow across communities.
During the day, you’ll:
Experience a hands-on example of community-connected, place-based learning
Hear what WNC Learning Lab teams are trying and learning
Strengthen ideas through peer feedback and collaborative protocols
Connect with educators, community partners, and regional resources
Spend dedicated work time on a project, question, or idea that matters to your students and community
Leave with practical next steps and new connections
A collage of convenings, site visits, and students in action.
Bring a project, a question, an emerging idea, or simply your curiosity.
We hope you’ll join us November 5 for a day of shared learning, practical work, and connection across Western North Carolina.
